PEEK Rod

PEEK rod is a high-performance engineering polymer stock shape made from polyether ether ketone (PEEK), suitable for machining wear-resistant and chemically resistant components.

Description

Heat Resistance: Certain PEEK grades can be used continuously at temperatures up to approximately 260°C, provided that the operating environment and mechanical load are within the specified limits. The material retains high mechanical strength and dimensional stability at elevated temperatures.

High Strength and Wear Resistance: PEEK offers high strength, rigidity, creep resistance, and fatigue resistance. It also provides excellent wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction, making it suitable for components subjected to mechanical loads.

Chemical Resistance and Hydrolytic Stability: PEEK is resistant to many acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, organic solvents, water, and steam. Actual chemical compatibility depends on the concentration of the medium, temperature, and duration of exposure.

Tribological Properties: Its low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance make PEEK suitable for moving components. In certain applications, it can operate without additional lubrication when the mating materials, load, and operating conditions are properly selected.

Electrical Insulation Properties: PEEK provides stable dielectric performance over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies. Specific electrical properties depend on the material grade, fillers, and operating conditions.

Biocompatibility: Special medical-grade PEEK materials with verified biocompatibility are available for medical applications. Compliance with ISO 10993 should only be stated when supported by the relevant documentation and test results for the specific material grade.
